January sunrise.

For some time now I have been regularly contributing to an amateur photography challenge on the scrap booking website UK Scrappers - Snap.

Alison has stepped in to take over the reins from Elaine for 2014 and the week 1 challenge is "sunrise".

The weather here this week has been terrible (I may already have mentioned this!) and so I despaired of getting any sunrise shots due to the rain lashing on my window panes early each morning.

But look what happened today......................................

  2. Maggie I'm glad you are at least having a little color in your skies after so much dismal rain.

I haven't been able to find the link to the UK Scrappers-Snap site photo challenge - would like to take a look if you can show me the way!

Your pics are so pretty today - hopefully the weather will pick up soon there. We're headed for a very, very cold snap this week - not a snowflake or even any icy conditions yet though! It's all staying up north where, poor people, are being inundated and I really feel for them knowing what it's like being snowed in from when we lived up there!

Happy day dear - hugs, Mary

  3. Picture perfect. I think we will not have a sun rise this morning for it is clouding with a threat of snow and 9 degrees F.

  4. That's a wonderful tradition Maggie-- such a humbling place to begin each new year. Even though it was wet and cold-- your photos are great-- thank you-- I've longed to visit there. Is this beach very far from your home?

  7. Beautiful! You only get shots like that when there are clouds so that rain was good for something. :) Best wishes, Tammy

  9. Maggie, glad you woke to that glorious pink sky. Makes me smile because I have such a memory of waking to beautiful sunrises when we were there to visit. I'm off to visit my own photo files.
All the best for a great week.
