Scenic Sunday on Portugal's Silver Coast

Bom dia,
Today I thought that for Scenic Sunday 80 hosted by the Holleys you might enjoy a complete change of scene with photographs from our trips to Portugal in 2005 and 2008.
We'll leave behind the snow and floods in gloomy grey Normandy to walk through the streets of Obidos
and gaze over the blue Atlantic Ocean at Praia D’El Rey on Portugal's Silver Coast.

Misericordia Church, situated just outside of Obidos town.
Painted frescoes nearby.

Até a vista.

  4. Definitely on my list of places to visit! The blue sea and sky, the flowers - they would be a tonic in winter. At what time of year did you go?

  6. Bom dia Maggie! Come vai voce? Suas fotografias são bonitas. The pictures from Portugal are so pretty. Gorgeous plants spilling over the garden wall. Gorgeous colonial church architecture too. I would really enjoy a trip to Portugal someday. I lived in Brazil for several years when I was a girl, and still remember some portuguese. Tchau!

  10. Maggie these have warmed me up and made me forget my sniffly nose. Are those bougainvillea flowers cascading down.
I noticed the hooks in the plaster wall. Is that to hang more flowers from?

  11. Hi Maggie, we were in the Algarve in 2003 and it is a beautiful place. Loved Vilamoura with the harbour and cafes and Lagos. We have friends who moved there in 2002 so wanted to see them, their house and their new lifestyle.

I remember we visited a chapel, can't remember where, that had all blue and white decorative tiles all the way around it. (Looking on the web I think it was Hermitage of Sao Sebastião)

Will have to go back there again soon.

Have a good weekend, from a chilly UK!! Jackie.
