Oh I'm so very sorry. I'm glad he had such a wonderful person to take care of him. He is very lucky. Someone said that we come to earth to learn to be good and, as dogs are already good, they don't need to stay as long. You are in my prayers.

Oh Maggie, I was so sorry to see this on my blogroll this morning. It makes me SO sad for you and Mr. Normandy. I will truly miss your pictures and references to Ben in your blog posts, but not nearly so much as I know you will miss him.
Our MacDuff is almost 13, and believe me, I'm always watching him for signs of cancer, which is what took my first two Scotties. Loving our dogs brings us so much joy and happiness, but they always break our hearts when it's time to say goodbye.
Sorry to read this. What a bad start into the new year. I know how you feel. I still miss our Josy who we had to let go 3 1/2 years ago. And our Blue Heeler is 16 1/2 yo and I am thankful for each single day he is fit enough not to make "that" decision. Hugs to you. Tina

What I do know is that Mr. Ben was very lucky indeed to come to the Presbytere and find such a loving home. He is a family member and a friend who will never be replaced.
Be gentle with yourselves at this time, my friend. Let your heart ache as long as it needs to. Sending many hugs and a few tears.

Dear Maggie and Roger - I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of your precious Ben. Loss is hard, and we are never really prepared. I don't believe that grief lives inside of us, but I do believe that it comes to visit and stays as long as it wants. But eventually it gets crowded out by peace and understanding and the sunshine of a new day and moseys on down the road. I wish for you the sunshine of a new day! Your friend always Nancy N

So sorry - we still miss Charlie, 4 years on [we all watched snowman&snowdog on Christmas eve, and wept when the boy's dog died!!]
