Hey Harriet comes to us from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia and graciously hosts Shadow Shot Sunday each week, featuring (you've guessed it) fabulous photographs of objects and the shadows that they cast.
I decided to join in with the other participants, for the first time, with some photographs taken in the churchyard on Wednesday morning after the first heavy snowfall.
The peaceful serenity of the village churchyard, parts of which date to circa 12c.
Good Morning Maggie,
ReplyDeleteThose are great pics. I never thought about taking pictures of shadows...how neat!
Thanks for sharing..
So serene and peaceful....thanks for sharing your talents in capturing the beauty that always surrounds us :)
ReplyDeleteHi Maggie I love shadows, just need the sun here in the UK. Although saying that we have had some today and the snow is melting from the roofs. On the right hand side of my blog page is a photo I took of Phil's and my shadow when we visited Savill Gardens in the snow just before Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteJackie.
I love the shadows on snow--they're so BLUE! Thanks for this petit tour of your village.
ReplyDeleteMaggie, very artistic photos, keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteSqueeeeeeal, that's gorgeous, honey! Oh, I wish our surroundings looked that good.

Maggie, great discovery. . . both the shadows on the snow and the new blog event. These are beautiful photos. Wouldn't it be fun to capture these same spots with shadows during other seasons? You could have a series.
ReplyDeleteStill cold here, but no snow. Just temps in the teens. Brrr. . . I'm staying inside to eat chocolate. LOL
Hugs ~ Sarah
Hello Maggie,
ReplyDeleteShadows add a sense of mystery to photos, I think. Yours are wonderfully composed.
Bon week-end

Hi Maggie
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shadow photography link. I am going to consider joining as soon as I return home from Toronto where I am helping out with the care of our twin granddaughters born in Nov. We had lots of sun today so it would have been perfect to get out into the snow with my camera. Oh well, soon......
Cheers
What a fascinating churchyard! I like the colors of the shadows in the snow. Thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a great series of shadowy shots.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photographs, Maggie. I love churchyards as well. There's a kind of peace about them.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Sweet Maggie...
ReplyDeleteAs always you have done an amazing job photographing. I love the steeple picture. Is is so serene and peaceful at the same time. I love to walk around at the cemetary and look at the beautiful headstone. It is so quiet there and you can think. I love that most. Peaceful.
I will pop over and see this photographing sight. It sounds so amazing.
Have a beautiful evening sweetie. Country hugs and much love, Sherry
Nice shots Maggie - churches, grave stones etc. are always great subjects for peaceful photos.
ReplyDeleteHope you are staying warm and have good books to snuggle up with.
Welcome to Shadow Shot Sunday Maggie. Your images are just beautiful and so poignant covered with snow. We were in France during the northern summer and it was certainly sizzling then!
ReplyDeleteLove, love your shadow shots today. I can't stop thinking about the movie version of 'Phantom' when I look at each photo. Great job.
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely! Thanks so much for joining in Shadow Shot Sunday! It's great to have you playing along.
ReplyDeletePS - I'm from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, but not NSW. That's a different state to Queensland. Not too far away though. We are neighbouring states :)
