One of our favourite walks is along a country lane which (surprise, surprise!) has fields either side and these fields, in summer, have cows (many cows) in them.
We are in Normandy after all.
Recently, however, because of the inclement weather the river, which meanders through the fields, broke it's banks.
So, for Blue Monday @ Smiling Sally's and Mary's Mosaic Monday @ the little red house grab your coat, hat, scarf, don't forget gloves and come and breath the cold crisp air as we take Mr Ben for his Sunday constitutional.
These are photographs of fields, it's not a lake we're looking at!
Have a great Monday and as a treat, to yourself, do fly over to Sally & Mary's blogs and enjoy all the fabulous photo's on display today.
Hi Maggie. LOve that mosaic. Looks like my country when there has been a lot of rain or snow that's melted.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day.
Ps. It's cold here
Looks like a lovely place for a walk. Wonderful blues, and some nice shadows, too. Happy Blue Monday!

Thanks for the walk. I was glad to be able to stay warm while I went along!
ReplyDeleteWater, water everywhere! It is amazing when fields turn into lakes . . . and then recede. Looks like a lovely place for a quiet walk!
ReplyDeleteWow, that river really did break it's banks! Makes for a lovely picture. I always enjoy all of your mosiacs.
ReplyDeleteI'm experiencing a "blue Monday" today...it's back to work after a two week vacation :-(

Wow, Maggie, it looks beautiful even like that. A serene looking place. How nice to go for a stroll with Ben in a country like that.

Your mosaic is so pretty. I like how you've caught the sunlight! Have a happy week!
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty country, Maggie, but I shudder to think who has to rebuild the banks. Happy New Year and Happy Blue Monday.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blues! I can't resist a post with the word 'blue'.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the walk through the fields near your house - I feel quite refreshed and absolved of the isn of leftover-shortbread-eating.
I see shades of blue...very lovely pictures thanks for sharing!

What beautiful countryside! I'd love to be able to visit someday! Looks like it was a pretty chilly walk outdoors! Guess I could go out and face the cold here for a walk, but I'm thinking it will be the gym today. It has been bitterly cold here - but very beautiful to look our our windows. I really enjoy reading your blog!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Tricia
What beautiful scenery. It's matched only by your photos and that wonderful collage you assembled for us. Have a great Blue Monday and a Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteAnything with blue has my attention. Your watery landscape looks like the perfect place to air out the vestiges of holiday celebrations.

ReplyDeleteLovely mosaic - that's a lot of water glittering in the sunshine Maggie! Hope it dries up soon and those poor cows can get back in their fields - know how your area is where the best butter and cream come from, right?

Beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteCheers for the New Year!

Hi Maggie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mosaic & such a gorgeous spot to live & take daily walks.
I clicked on your sidebar to see pics of your Ben - he is adorable!
Thank you for your visit and your kind comment ♥
Happy New Year.
My first time to visit your blog,Maggie. What an amazing place you live...both in Normandy and in a 16th/18th century presbytery - wow!
ReplyDeleteHope the cows are o.k.
Happy Blues~
Hi Maggie, I posted this on my blog, but don't know if you saw it or not about altered books:
ReplyDelete"A very good spot to learn more about altered books and how-to's is at the Yahoo group altered books - at this link:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/alteredbooks/
You can choose any book, but preferably one that has a sewn binding instead of a glued one - the glued ones fall apart.
You have to remove some of the pages to make room for the embellished ones. I just cut them out, leaving the edge still bound to the book. I also glue several pages together to make a stiffer, more substantial substrate."
Oh and I have to tell you that I visited your blog on the first visit because of your nickname - Maggie B. My grandmother went by Maggie B - her real name I think was Margaret, but everyone called her Maggie B for Maggie Byrd. And my mother-in-law goes by Maggie, as well. She is from Canada, but her mom was from Belgium and she is a native French speaker. Her real name is Marguerite Marie Therese Lambert Leng. Quite a name - Maggie for short! : )
Smiles,
Tricia
Beautiful countryside. I'm eager to experience a bit of this first hand. Looking forward to our visit with walks in the country and along the beach....Sarah
