On top of that yesterday I was feeling a little under the weather and so missed Mosaic Monday at Mary's for the first time in I don't know how long.
So, today I'm joining Tam @The Gypsy's Corner for 3 or More Tuesday and popping in on Susan's Deck the Halls meme @ Thoughts From Over The Rainbow.
I started collecting Byers Choice Carolers many years ago after admiring them in the home of an American friend who I met whilst living in Bavaria, Germany.
I began by assembling my Salvation Army Band which I discovered in a beautiful Christmas shop in Windsor, Berkshire.
Then whenever I came across the Carolers, whilst on vacation in the States, I would always buy "a couple" from the Victorian shoppers range.
I've always admired these carolers but never bought any -- it's a great collection! I envy yours!
ReplyDeleteYour home is truly has the Christmas spirit right down to your wonderful collection of Christmas Carolers..
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Maggie.
Cheers.
Maggie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful collection. And how nice that your friends and family have added to the collection over the years.
I haven't forgotten about the picture holders...I have two weeks off work now and will have some quality "studio" time after Christmas. E-mail me your address when you have a chance and your little gift will be arriving after the holidays.
Have a wonderful holiday. I have really enjoyed getting to know you through our blogs.

Maggie, My MIL gave us a some carolers a couple of years ago. My favorites are the children. Your collection is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you!!
Maggie,
ReplyDeleteI never collected the Carolers but I think I will pick up a few for next year. I have just the spot where they would love to sing!

One of my sisters gave me a few carolers a while back. Not Salvation army ones but very cute with natural colors and old fashioned clothing. I get many compliments on them.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas.
Oh I love these carolers, Maggie. Merry Christmas to you and your family!...Christine
ReplyDeleteLove the carolers - thanks for sharing them with us. Great job on the mosaic.

How fun to have started a collection of these wonderful carolers, Maggie! You created some nice mosaics, also. I seem to be mosaic impaired, as I cannot manage to make one! Not a fancy one, that is. I can barely make a simple one w/a plain background. LOL Thanks for your visit to my snowmen table and hutch. Have a Merry Christmas! ~ Sue
ReplyDeleteAmazing collection ya have there Maggie girl! I loved looking at the happy little carolers. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteHOw beautiful they are Maggie. I have never seen the carolers before but I Hope I can see them somewhere around here too. So lovely.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas
What wonderful collections! I have never seen the Salvation Army carolers, they are so neat! You will have to keep us posted as you continue your collections. Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are the Salvation Army carolers. Although we don't belong to the Salvation Army, many other churches send volunteers to help ring the bell at the kettle. My husband and I rang the bell many years. It was a lot of fun and really made you get into the real Christmas spirit.
ReplyDeleteI like how you have them displayed on your window sill.
Your collection of carolers is great. Have you seen the new ones this year? They are so life like.. I love all the candy their holding. I've enjoyed my tour of your wonderful carolers. Thank you for stopping by to say hello. Please pop in any 'ole time.. from our home to yours a Very Merry Christmas.. hugs ~lynne~
ReplyDeleteOh, those are soooo wonderful! I've never seen any of the Salvation Army band. How cool is that?! Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas!

ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better!
Christmas hugs, my friend! ~ Sarah
Where will it end indeed? With an impressive collection, at least!
ReplyDeleteI hope you and your family have a Joyeux Noel!
I'm glad I found your blog this year.
We've been selling the Byer's Choice Carolers at our store. You've got quite the collection! They're lovely. You should add the piano, fireplace or staircase. It's all if you can find the room, right? Buddy would like to play with Mr. Ben in the snow, but only for a few minutes. He's pretty acclimated to Southern California's weather. His paws would freeze! Have a very happy New Year Maggie!

Maggie, I am way behind. Do hope you are feeling better! We had lots of company. I like your Carolers very much, you do a great job displaying them.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
What a fabulous collection! I know what you mean with the "where will it all end." LOL I've thought that before when I started a collection. :-) These really are special...loved seeing how you have your displayed!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Maggie!
