Memories of Montmartre

This week for Alphabe-Thursday some shots of La Basilique du Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre and the surrounding streets.

You may remember the photo of the macarons from my post last October, click here to see it again.
I couldn't resist buying some to send to a friend.
I did resist the ice cream though, too rich for my blood.
There are many talented artists working in the open air in the Place du Tertre but you do have to be careful of the people who pester you to draw your portrait.
Head over to Jenny's blog
to see who else is participating this week.

  1. Two lovely mosaics Maggie. Beautiful Sacre Coeur and look at that icecream and those macaroons. Good of you to resist the icecream. Wow.

  3. I just love looking at your pictures. It is not likely I will ever get to Normandy so seeking your photos is the next best thing.

  7. Beautiful! I wish my daughter was reading your blog. That was one of her favorite arrondissements. Would you believe that I have never tried a macaron? But we have a lovely little bakery not far from here that makes them, and I am going to have to go and get some.

  10. How beautiful - places seen once, long ago and held in lovely memories. I'd love to visit again, and it is tempting to fly into CDG but not more than a happy fantasy. In the meantime, I'll enjoy your photos and dream!
    Thank you!

  12. My 14 year old son was so taken by the Sacre Coeur (which was a total surprise to me, because most kids that age don't care for buildings!) Great post for the M!

  15. I really enjoyed Montmartre when I visited two years ago, and seeing your images brings it back. We sat on the steps of Sacre Coeur and had cheese, nuts, bread and a spot of wine and looked at the view of Paris. I think it will be too cold to do that in April! Love the tight shots of the sorbets and oh! Those macarroons -- I absolutely can't wait to try another when I get to France. It will be the first thing I buy in a pastry shop!
