A Teddy Bears Picnic, it must be Outdoor Wednesday

When the middle of the week comes around the place to be is at the Outdoor Wednesday party hosted by Susan at A Southern Daydreamer.

Meanwhile, look what I found at the bottom of the garden today...............................

If you go down in the woods today
You're sure of a big surprise.
If you go down in the woods today
You'd better go in disguise.

For ev'ry bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic.
Lyrics by Henry Hall.
On the two tier Quimper cake stand are "Scones a la Florence", filled with raisins and topped with almond flakes, they make a perfect picinic treat.

Follow the link below to hear the 1932 recording of Henry Hall & his Orchestra and "The Teddy Bears Picnic".

Have a wonderful Outdoor Wednesday everyone......The Bear Family.

  1. Oh, Maggie! I loved visiting your Teddy Bear Picnic. I've been thinking of having a Teddy Bear Picnic myself because I always hosted one for my students in my classroom each fall. Have you see the book, THE TEDDY BEAR'S PICNIC by Jimmy Kennedy? It was published 1983 by Green Tiger Press here in the states. The book includes a recording of Bing Crosby singing the song. One of my all time favorites in the genre of children's literature. Thanks for including me at the picnic! Hugs ~ Sarah
