Usually the best way to check what the weather is doing is to look out of the window.
This month all we've been able to see
through the rain streaked window panes is
water, water everywhere.
The average monthly rainfall in Normandy
during January is 70 - 74 mm.
This year we've had 117.6 mm.
But on Thursday,
just for a nanosecond,
the sun was spotted
peeking through the trees
peeking through the trees
the sky was blue
white clouds not grey
white clouds not grey
so I snapped away.
It is amazing what even a glimmer of sunshine can do for us!
ReplyDeleteWe managed a bit of sunshine yesterday and now it's back to grey, wet and foggy.
Have a good weekend.
I don't feel so fed up now, knowing that Normany is having the same awful weather as we are. I'm looking forward to spring I'm you are too.
ReplyDeleteMuch the same here in N. Ireland so nice to glimpse the Sun!
ReplyDeleteRaining here today. We need all we can get as TX is still in a drought. It's actually a very typical January day.
ReplyDeleteGlad you have some sunshine, my friend.
Lovely photos .... spring is just around the corner :)
ReplyDeleteIt may be wet but your sky is spectacular!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Maggie,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos documenting your rainy season. That flash of sunlight will soon light up the skies and warm your heart, I'm sure. We've been having very similar weather to you, which is uncharacteristic of Crete, with many downpours and hurricane worthy winds!
Wishing you a bright Sunlit Sunday!
Poppy
Isn't it nice when the sun comes out? Cloudy here today ... I hope the clouds are "pretty"!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful to see the sun shining! It gives you hope that Spring is going to arrive!
ReplyDeleteHello Maggie, Your sunlit photos are all lovely. We can be quite rainy in January, too. It's always wonderful to see a break in the clouds!
ReplyDeleteThose glimpses of sun are so welcome on the rainy days of winter.
ReplyDeleteA spot of sun in winter is a gift. I hope your February is more promising and less wet. Have a great week!
