We returned earlier this week from a wonderful trip to the Greek island of Crete, I have over 400 photographs to wade through before I can even think about telling the stories about our adventures there.
But..................
..........some photos are just begging to be shared and really they need no back story.
I invite you to simply sit back, feel the Cretan sun on your face,
Απολαύστε

Gorgeous...simply gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHow warm and relaxing it all looks. I envy Europeans who can travel short distances to experience a plethora of culture. Flying across North America, then across the Atlantic adds up to a BIG trip for us. Looking forward to reading more of your Cretan adventures.
ReplyDeleteOh, Maggie, I'm glad you let these photos speak for themselves so you could easily share them now. Absolutely lovely! I want to be on that terrace NOW. I'm so happy for you and R and the wonderful holidays you two take. Enjoy the weekend!
ReplyDeleteSuch romantic scenes, begging for some time to relax. An idyllic place.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fabulous trip Maggie - so happy you enjoyed it all and will look forward to more stories and photos of the beautiful scenery.

Enchanting! How peaceful and pretty this paradise is! Thanks again for introducing it to me - unbelievable that I had not heard of it! Looking forward to more words and pics of your own personal 'take' on Agreco Farm after having a look at its website, which is wonderful.

ReplyDeleteHow wonderful! So glad you had a great trip.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful trip Maggie. Agreco Farms looks and sounds wonderful (I can almost hear those birds singing) -- and yes I too wish it were easier for us to get 'from here to there' . Thank you for sharing and (in advance) for hosting the MM linkup.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. You really have a wonderful and enjoyable trip. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteNow that is container gardening at its finest! Wow! And such a beautiful view from that table. The first photo is enchanting. What a beautiful place to visit.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos from hot and sunny Crete! I visited Crete once but it was a tennis course, so did not see much other than clay court :) But still remember the fantastic dinners in the evenings. You had a lovely holiday I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful. And your mosaic showing the shadows just speaks peace and relaxation. Looks like a wonderful place to rest.
ReplyDeleteWow! Calm, peaceful ... why did you leave! Ha! Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteLuv the mosaics, have a good Monday
ReplyDeleteMuch love...
I spent two months kn Crete in 1992 I guess it would have changed since then...Loved Crete
ReplyDeleteI'm drooling over your pictures. How lovely, what a beautiful place! This belongs to some of the things from Europe I miss and that is impossible to have in this country that has become my new home. It looks like such an "easy" way of living, slower; your photography is fabulous, I feel like I'm hearing the birds and also crickets as well as smell lavender and thyme.
ReplyDeleteMore pictures of Crete! I am not sure I can stand it! We lived in the UK for 3.5 years and we so enjoyed our visits to Corsica, Greece, Turkey, Switzerland, Poland ... thanks for letting us live vicariously!
ReplyDeleteThis little bird is singing along with you! Your photos of Crete are taking me back to a holiday in the 1980's and it looks like it continues to be the place of happy hols!

I never really thought of Crete till I first started seeing posts about it here. Now I think it is a perfect destination! This spot in particular looks like a bit of heaven on earth!
