Cool shadows on a sunny day at Agreco Farm.

We returned earlier this week from a wonderful trip to the Greek island of Crete, I have over 400 photographs to wade through before I can even think about telling the stories about our adventures there.
But..................

..........some photos are just begging to be shared and really they need no back story.

I invite you to simply sit back, feel the Cretan sun on your face, listen imagine hearing the birds singing in the trees and relax in the market square @ Agreco Farm.

Απολαύστε

Egyptian Sun and Shadows

As an antidote to all the rain we've been enduring recently
let's enjoy some sunshine!

and walk like an Egyptian

remember long sunny days at the beach
cool down in hidden shadow

chillax

stroll past tall palm trees

and finally swim up to the pool bar!

You can probably tell that I recently upgraded to picmonkey's Royale level
and am enjoying playing with learning
all about the features which until now have been out of reach.

Shadow Shot Sunday in Provence

the view from the hotel B4 Plaza's roof terrace
across the beautiful Jardin Albert 1er to vieux Nice town
I recently spent six wonderful days attending the Quimper Club International's annual meeting in Nice on the Cote D'Azur, my sister Kathryn came along too which made the trip even more amazing.
Once I've sorted through my photographs I'll tell you about some of the things that we did and the gorgeous places we visited.
But for now I just have two shadow captures to share.
The first one was taken in the jam making area of the Confiserie Florian des Gorges du Loup during our guided tour last Friday.

jars of citrus jam ready to be transported to the store
This shot was taken through the open window looking down on the swift flowing river that runs alongside the Confiserie down the gorge to the sea.

Shadow shots - poolside

As Mother Goose once said - "Home again, home again jiggity jig!!"

and it is lovely to be home again after our wonderful stay at the amazing Michelangelo Resort in Kos, but oh! that infinity pool.........

Early mornings were the best times to capture shadows.

It's going to take a while to readjust to home life and also to sort through the many photographs that we both took.

I know that it is hard to believe but the hotel was almost at full capacity.

There was always a quiet spot to enjoy the sun, read a book or enjoy a leisurely cocktail at the pool bar.

Sit back, relax, it's the weekend.

Bastille Day - petit dejeuner

Fireworks lit the dark night sky at midnight as our neighbours began to celebrate July 14th, Bastille Day.

Since we Brits are a little more sedate we celebrated the special day with a late breakfast of coffee and croissants and a little bit of Gallic red, white & blue.

blue & white hand painted Quimper plates add Breton charm

as does the 18th c Petit Breton on this HB picher,
always a useful and decorative piece.
The delicious croissants were bought fresh from the boulanger's van as he made his early morning round through our village.

the blue and white hand painted Quimper plates each have a nautical motif
the pretty white blossom on these branches has a wonderful perfume,
sadly I do not know what tree this is as it was already thriving in the garden 17 years ago when we arrived in Normandy
bon appetit

Shadow Shot Sunday

Some shadows captured during a recent walk with our dogs.
You may be able to spot them and the Senior Partner, way in the background in the last shot.
