quirky definition: unusual in an attractive and interesting way
Taking a trip to somewhere new
often offers up something odd or quirky to capture through the camera lens.
Here are some unusual things that caught my eye recently.
an ancient wrought iron door knocker, how many hands have held this through the centuries? |
another hand made piece of door furniture that has stood the test of time |
how I wish these rusted and corroded metal shutters had been open! |
What's caught your eye this week?
I love old well used and age worn hand crafted metal pieces, loved seeing the ones you shared through your lens . Thank you Maggie for hosting Mosaic Monday, always appreciated.
ReplyDeleteI like quirky...people, places, and things! Those are perfect finds and each makes me smile...and they are beautiful when arranged together. There’s a lot of quirky here in Eugene ....you’ve given me ideas! Thank you for hosting!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful antique architectural details, Maggie! Each one has many stories to tell.
ReplyDeleteDearest Maggie; Oh,these old quirky things caught my eye as these items which stood the test of time (thanks for the new phrase ;-) from western culture are rare to me♪
ReplyDeleteEspecially we don't have door knocker for our old Japanese style architectural structure buildings. I remember that the scene someone using door knocker in the drama or movie made me realize or fresh finding of the difference of the cultures when young (*^.^*)
Thank you very much for hosting and Have a wonderful rest of the week.
Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan, Miyako*

It's an artist that notices the details! What beauty in these things that have lasted through the ages! Very beautiful for MM! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteA lovely collection, Maggie!

How incredible these time worn pieces. Luv the question asked of how many hands through time.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy Monday Maggie

I love quirky! Old and rusty are the best -- good for art making too! Fun post and thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteEver since we started decorating our house with the rustic industrial theme, my eye has been drawn to old metal hardware. Love it - you have a nice selection in your mosaic this week! Thanks for hosting MM!
ReplyDeleteThese are just beautiful, Maggie. And they look so right here!
ReplyDeleteI just love old windows and doors.
ReplyDeleteMaggie, Love the new blog header! Love these vintage items. The door knocker is a nice piece with good wear.
ReplyDeleteLove that door knocker!
ReplyDeleteAs an English learner, I learned the word “quirky” now. I like to see antiques which have been taken care of well. The door knocker has an attractive soft shine.

Maggie, I love your 'knobs and knockers' quirky post! Aren't they amazing and like you I love the rich history that would surely be associated with these doors and handles! Thank you for hosting and have a happy week.

I am so so blogging this week - life has gotten in the way. But I love your door details. I took a lot of photos of doors and balconies and windows when we were in Europe recently. Enjoy the rest of your week. I hope to be in time to link up next week.
